NEWS: CONCEPTS AND CLONES

Social networking-oriented phones are all the rage now, in this age of connectivity, so Shane Crozier’s concept is pretty appealing, if you ask me. Dubbed the Elite Phone or simply 31337 (Elite), this handset is able to connect to Facebook and Twitter, filling its address book with the contacts in your social networking list.

Talented designer Antoine Brieux has shown us his NAK concept phone before, but now there’s a new version available, dubbed the Screen. This “no design cellphone” comes with a special NAK screen, a virtualhandset body and many possibilities of customization.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Sony Ericsson concept from Esato, but now we have a fresh design from Stefan Riegenbauer. This render shows a pretty original phone, with an inclined keypad, probably a 3.5mm audio jack at the top and a microUSB port on the lower side.

Designer James Caldwell created a very interesting concept phone, the Nike cellphone, a gadget for sporty people. This handset is meant for active users and it comes with functions that allow it to record the user’s heart rate, speed and medical stats while jogging or exercising.

We’ve mentioned Sony Ericsson Kurara once before on our site, but now we have to detail it, in case you’re not familiar with this device. After stumbling upon it on the Esato board, asa concept created by FlamEmo, we’ve come across a bunch of “live pictures” of the handset.

Liam Quinn is back with a fresh design, the Deffcon 1 concept phone, that you can check out in the images below. This beautiful handset comes with an 8 megapixel camera at the back, complete with 3x optical zoom, Xenon flash and dual LED flash. The device runsOrb OS, another concept by Liam Quinn.
